Sign-Up Time: Pretty Short

How Many Survey Invitations Should You Expect Per Week: 0 – 7

How Long Does It Take To Collect A Reward Or Cash Out: Less then a year for under $50 CAD. But it varies based on how much you want before you cash out.

Do They Spam You: No

Overall Rating: 2.5 out of 5 – This survey company has always kept it's promises to myself as well as to my other blog members. But if TNS says your gonna get to try a product sample or you are getting cash money. You will be getting it for sure (NO BEGGING REQUIRED) It appears that TNS has switched to a points system, instead of random sums of money or contest entries.

Now onto the good bits about this survey site. Way more surveys , way better point per survey ratios and way better prizes. My only big issue with TNS is how long it takes to get your rewards via snail mail and or e-mail. It took way 2 and half months just to get my $30 CAD Chapter/Indigo e- gift cards via e-mail. Now that is both insane and unacceptable. As before they had no issues with getting to me in 1 month to the day. It truly is a sad turn of events.

WebMail Notifier (2.8.3) – Mozilla FireFox Add-on Review

WebMail Notifier (2.8.3)

A. Ease Of Use: 4.5/5 – Very easy to setup multiply e-mail accounts on several different free mail services. Such as Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo, GMail and many many more.

B. Security: (Very Un-secure) – It gives you a by-pass of all your passwords and usernames. Not recommended for shared and or public computers or for high security e-mail accounts. (I would also avoid any public WI-FI as well)

BB. Other Important Security Information: Just remember your passwords and usernames are viewable in FireFox Options. Under Security "Saved Passwords"

C. Usefulness: 4/5 – If you are lazy like me or have a really bad memory go for it. Just remember you are at an elevated risk of your e-mail accounts being hacked and or hijacked.

D. FireFox Slowdown: Very minimal for most computers

E. Computer Slow Down: None

F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on: I would only recommend this add-on for people who are unable to use e-mail without assistance. If you are good with the Internet and other free mail accounts such as MSN, Gmail, Yahoo and have a good memory. Please try to avoid this potentially massive security risk.

Very Important Side Note: It appears that WebMail Notifier (2.8.3). Will now work in conjunction with the newly upgraded Hotmail free mail account. Well done WMN Team.

Reply: We don't ask for any kind of donations. But we would not turn down one down if it was offered to us. We have had quite a few donations this past year from our readership. We do have a Paypal account setup for them. But not giving a donation will not affect how we will deal with anyone person. I mean it's nice of course. But we were built on word of month and kindness of our readership / viewership. So asking for donations would be against what we stand for. Well anyways I hope that answers your question.

TweetDeck (1.1) – Review And Q+A

TweetDeck – is a social media dashboard application for management of Twitter and Facebook accounts. Like other Twitter applications it interfaces with the Twitter API to allow users to send and receive tweets and view profiles.

1. Q: Who is TweetDeck for ?

A: TweetDeck is meant for any user of Twitter (But it can also be connected to your Facebook account as well. )

2. Q: Is TweetDeck Safe To Use ?

A: Yes, so far it does seem to be. But like Twitter itself. You can click on a link and thus can get a virus or be sent to a infected website. But so far there is still pretty low threshold of reports to that effect. But I assure you as Twitter grows and TweetDeck gets bigger. I can assure you that rate will dramatically increase.

3. Q: Is TweetDeck Easy To Use ?

A: Now I may sound Uber stupid. But I found this to be one of the most difficult apps to just pick up and use. I still as I am writing this have yet to uncover all of hidden TweetDecks functions. So is it an easy program to use ? Well it depends on the users willingness to explore and read up on the new app.

But it is getting a lot more easier moving forward. I expect once we finally hit version(1.2) TweetDeck should be way easier to use.

4. Q: Should I Allow My Kids To Use TweetDeck ?

A: I in this case actually would say YES. This program can help you bridge the gap of so many aspects of social networking. It may even bring you closer to your kids with a much more simple UI (User Interface). But expect some hang time in understanding TweetDeck and its settings.

5. Q: Is TweetDeck Stable ?

A: No, question here it is indeed stable. There have only been some very minor glitches such as showing the incorrect number of followers.

6. Q: Is TweetDeck Useful ?

A: Heck yeah. I pretty much am using it everyday. It is a blast to use and is very useful to keep on top of all the new tweets. Being posted by all your friends.

7. Q: Do I Need A TweetDeck Account ?

A: There is no TweetDeck account. But it does require having one or more of the following accounts Twitter account

8. Q: Does TweetDeck Spam Users ?

A: No, not that I'm aware of

9. Q: Are There Any Ads On TweetDeck ?

A: No, not that I have noticed thus far

Final overall score for TweetDeck is a 3 out of 5 – This app/program does have a lot of useful features. But TweetDeck also has a lot overlapping features. Some are there so you can watch a bunch of different accounts at the same time and in one place. I personally wish it was way more user friendly and had way more features. Such as what the old TweetDeck had.

What Is “Wi-Fi” ?

Wi-Fi or Wifi - is a mechanism for wirelessly connecting electronic devices. A device enabled with Wi-Fi, such as a personal computer, video game console, smartphone, tablet, or digital audio player, can connect to the Internet via a wireless network access point. An access point (or hotspot) has a range of about 20 meters (65 ft) indoors and a greater range outdoors. Multiple overlapping access points can cover large areas.

How Long Does It Take To Collect A Reward Or Cash Out: It took me a little over a year. But I think my second time around will be much faster.

Do They Spam You: No

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 – I am mainly impressed with the incredibly fair time to reward ratio this site has. I had an 8 minute survey that payed out more then $3.00 CAD. That is way better then any other survey site I have ever come across. To bad, for the $50 minimal cash out level thou.

Blog Update #198 – Happy New Years And A Very Happy New Site Upgrade

Dear Readers,

The whole Computer Savvy Weblog team would like to wish everyone a very happy New Years and all the best in 2012.

Until then I'll leave you with a new banner and Twitter Theme created by our very own Matty Stanyon. And now a sneak peak at some of the new upgrades and changes. That we will be rolling out over the next few weeks.

We are updating the following:

1. Our "About CSW" Page

2. Our "Reviews" Page

3. Our "Features" Page

4. We will also be updating all of our membership personal profiles.

Site changes and content removal

1. We have removed quite a few unneeded categories from our list. We went from over 180 to just over 90 now.

2. We promoted Erin to Community Manager. Along with her Comment Moderation tasks.

3. William will now be our lead News Editor

4. We have added more software we are going to cover. Coming in 2012.

5. We are posting everyday now with out fail.

6. We have added more software change logs.

7. We have added a lot more reviews

8. We are updating our features, pages and reviews more often now

9. We have narrowed our Scam Mail list/database down to just 2 main ones Hotmail and Paypal.

10. And finally we removed our "CSW FAQ's" page altogether..
