I just got this question about 7 times today. So I figured I would answer said question. So here is the answer.
Q: Is AVG Free Anti-Virus 2012 Compatible With Windows 98 ?
A: No, AVG Free Anti-Virus 2012 it is not compatible with Windows 98. I maybe mistaken but I believe at this point there is no main stream anti-virus options that will go as far back as Windows 98. Unless you have a really old version of AVG, AVIRA or AVAST. Which I would not advise. In any case. As you would not be protected from current threats as well as at least 5 years of back log virus definitions you would have missed. You may get way with it if you don't use the Internet at all. But even that you are treading on very dangerous grounds.
- Sometimes good Torrents are really really hard to find
- Sometimes it can take hours, days, weeks to download a file and or files. All will depend on your connection speed, the size of the file and the souring of the torrent and or torrents you are using.
- There can be some serious virus issues
- Depending on your Internet connection. You can use all your bandwidth for the whole house or business network without evening knowing it.
- Some options require you to be rather Computer/Internet Savvy person
- Setting upµTorrent for optimal performance can take some trial and error.
Pro's
- Free
- Simple to use
- There is a ton of customization options wise
- App add-ons
- Very easy to use Internet connection guide
- Files are generally pretty darn safe. Provided you know what files types you are looking for and or planning to download. (And with the Torrents with positive feedback/ also know as the Green comments)
- Way better then the bulk of their competition
- Very slick/clean interface
- Very light on resources (Both Ram and CPU)
- Provided you use a good torrent site, you can get some stellar file sourcing.
- You can find some pretty rare files, movies, music and or books
- Very decent download speeds for most torrents
- Very easy to change ports on the fly
- Can download any type of files you could ever possibly want.
- Can download multiple files at a time
- Can download huge files of several 100 gigs with ease.
- Has bandwidth and sourcing encryption
—————————————————————
Overall Score 4.5 out of 5 – Provided you are using a good torrent source such as ISOHUNT. You should be able to find pretty much anything you could ever want. But be very careful some Torrents can have some very nasty virus hidden inside them. So please use the Torrent Positive/Negative comment rule (If it is green it is a go). So if there is no feedback or negative also known as RED feedback posted for that torrent. Then whatever you do don't download said torrent. If you do decide to download anyways you would be asking for a possible virus issues.
On the other hand if there are a bunch of positive comments (Green Comments/Positive + Score). Then you should be good, but I tend to read the comments even if there are a lot of positive comments. Just to air on the safe side.
Both myself and the rest of the (CSW) crew would like to say well done Nico. It's been a long but worthwhile haul for all of us involved. Keep up the great work and hope to see you break yet another milestone in the very near future.
RootKit - is a stealthy type of malicious software (malware) designed to hide the existence of certain processes or programs from normal methods of detection and enables continued privileged access to a computer. The term rootkit is a concatenation of "root" (the traditional name of the privileged account on Unix operating systems) and the word "kit" (which refers to the software components that implement the tool). The term "rootkit" has negative connotations through its association with malware.

Overall Rating: 0.5 out of 5 – Just a heads up, since my last review in (Oct 2011). I have only received maybe 5 survey invites. Personally there are so many better survey sites out there. So why should you settle for this one.
This week The Computer Savvy Weblog will have reached it's 200th week as a live published blog. So it is yet another huge milestone for us as a whole. But while we bask in that massive achievement. We still are striving to reach our new goal of receiving over 1,000,000 hits/views. By our May 1st, 2012 blog birthday. Can we do it ? We shall soon see.
A light-emitting diodeor LED - is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for other lighting. Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness.

Reply: We are playing it by ear for now. But we hope to have it up and running by the end of Jan 2012 and at the latests March 2012. We apologies for the mis-understanding and or mis-communication. We had a few of our team get a really nasty flu/cold that has been going around the office. As of late. But we are working as fast as we can to keep our promise and we are still excepting applications.

A: Well I'm not gonna pretend this is an easy question to answer. I personally have used the site for more then a 2 years and I was getting a much better rating this time last year. That score was a 155, yes I know that is not a very good score in the larger picture. But yet still pretty hard to get, I am now getting 115. Which is super sad because my blog is getting crazy amount of hits and referrals. But there is the issue, Technorati.com scores your blog not on hits but on how many sites are linking to your blog and how how they are rated (themselves). Which in it's own way makes some sense. Right ?
But that still leaves me the e-mail question I keep on getting from you guys. "Is Technorati.com Even An Accurate Blog Rating Website ?" Well I would have to say no to most bloggers. Technorati does not make any real sense to gauge your blogs success on just Technorati.com alone. I would recommend taking more then just Technorati.com into account. Try looking at where your blog stands on Google, Yahoo or Chrome and look at how many times your blog gets posted on other blogs/websites as well as hits per posts. Then look at hits on your over all blog, do you need to post everyday to get the same amount of hits you would get without posting a new article/post.
A. Ease of use: 4/5 – Pretty straight to the point. But there are some more advanced options in there. That maybe hard to comprehend for some users.
B. Security – Absolutely No Impact On FireFox Security Or PC Security
C. Usefulness: 4/5 – Does have some flaws and not every website. Will let you use this without some issues. Such as re-starting or even corrupting your download.
D. FireFox Slowdown: Very Little
E. Computer Slow Down: Very Little
F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on: Beginner to Moderate Skilled FireFox user
iOS oriPhone OS- is Apple's mobile operating system. Originally developed for the iPhone, it has since been extended to support other Apple, Inc. devices such as the iPod Touch, iPad, and Apple TV. Apple, Inc. does not license iOS for installation on non-Apple hardware. As of October 4, 2011, Apple, Inc.'s App Store contained more than 500,000 iOS applications, which have collectively been downloaded more than 18 billion times. It had a 26% share of the smartphone operating system units sold in the last quarter of 2010, behind both Google's Android and Nokia's Symbian.[4] In May 2010 in the USA, it accounted for 59% of mobile web data consumption (including use on both the iPod Touch and the iPad).
I wanted to point out this feature was written by our very own "Nico" on Dec 10th, 2009. "Nico" has both faithfully updated his post till this very day as well as answering well over 95.5% of all the comments posted on said feature.
**(The other 5.5% is a mix of (CSW) membership and or our readership / viewership) -This would also now include "Ethan" who works for JustAnswer.com-

Overall Rating: 2.5 out of 5 – This survey company has always kept it's promises to myself as well as to my other blog members. But if TNS says your gonna get to try a product sample or you are getting cash money. You will be getting it for sure (NO BEGGING REQUIRED) It appears that TNS has switched to a points system, instead of random sums of money or contest entries.
Now onto the good bits about this survey site. Way more surveys , way better point per survey ratios and way better prizes. My only big issue with TNS is how long it takes to get your rewards via snail mail and or e-mail. It took way 2 and half months just to get my $30 CAD Chapter/Indigo e- gift cards via e-mail. Now that is both insane and unacceptable. As before they had no issues with getting to me in 1 month to the day. It truly is a sad turn of events.
